We collect nothing.
The short version. Jalonsan has no account, no server holding your data, no analytics and no advertising. What you enter stays on your device. We cannot see it, sell it, lose it or hand it to anyone, because we never receive it.
What stays on your device
Accounts, balances, history, holdings, recurring entries, notes and settings are stored only in the app's container on your iPhone. iOS encrypts that storage with your device passcode; if no passcode is set, the app tells you that this protection is not active. Deleting the app deletes the data.
What leaves your device, and only if you use the feature
- Market prices. If you track holdings, the app asks Yahoo Finance for the price of each ticker symbol you hold (for example
AAPL) and for the currency rates needed to convert them. The request contains the symbols and nothing else — no quantities, balances, account names or identifiers. Like any web request, it reveals your IP address to Yahoo, whose own privacy policy applies to it. If you set your own price server in Settings, the same request goes to that server instead. - Institution logos. If you type a website address to fetch a bank's logo, the app requests the icon directly from that website. The address is used once and not stored; only the image is kept, on your device.
- iCloud sync. If you turn sync on, your data is replicated through your own iCloud account, in Apple's CloudKit private database, which we have no way to access. Balances, names, institutions, notes, tickers and dates are additionally end-to-end encrypted, so Apple cannot read them either. A small amount of record metadata (identifiers, timestamps, structural flags) is visible to Apple unless you enable Advanced Data Protection.
- Export. Exported files go wherever you send them through the share sheet. We are not involved.
What we do not do
- No account, email, password or sign-up.
- No analytics, advertising, tracking or attribution SDK, and no third-party SDK of any kind.
- No sale or sharing of data — there is none to share.
TestFlight builds
If you test Jalonsan through Apple's TestFlight, Apple provides us with what TestFlight provides every developer: the name and email you were invited with (if invited by email), the device model and iOS version, crash reports, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send. That comes from Apple, is governed by Apple's TestFlight terms, and never includes your financial data. We use it only to fix the app.
This website
No cookies, no analytics, no third-party requests — the fonts are served from this site. The host serving these pages may keep standard access logs; we do not use them.
Children
Jalonsan is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If anything in the list of what leaves your device ever changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
